«…I first learnt about haikai in the 80-s when I started to study the Japanese language and literature in the Far East State University (Vladivostok). My favourite authors are Basho, Buson, Shiki, Issa, Santoka. These poets have a great influence on my poetry. I used to write poems in Japanese, while living and studying in Japan.
