Even the ice-cold dew
from the grass reaching my heart will not cool me off – when at the first sight of you I run barefoot across the meadow So bright is the sun! flying on a date with you so long-awaited – the fence throws underfoot the stripes of light and shadow into the sunshine all covered with wet sand, the crab has emerged Flaking bit by bit Hey buddy, pull yourself together!… Howl of the snowstorm, springs tossing the dry leaves between the roots of the trees- the lilies of the valley shake their heads on the spot, where we used to make out the first snow grabbed by the toddler at once – now it lives in the freezer guarding the frozen berries, the snowman, fresh from the window! Endless clouds carried by the wind day after day, but every morning the grass is wet with dew and you fill up my heart… craving for water the ivy sprays have emptied the jug… they won’t see the earth until their roots have grown plum petals fall… the rain drops take them away one by one - counting down the years, not days until we meet again we went again to check on the acorn - around the snowdrift our footprints small and large only you and me in the darkness of the room – only me and the bare-headed candle flame… this autumn night both thoughts and dreams are out of place - in the wayside silence the last cicadas sing Key in the lock hurrying to arrange the figures while it’s still a tie while the spilled coffee’s there and the squares are painted grey = Translated by the ULITKA = ![]() (Russia) |
